Holding Neighborhood Fabric[K] Together

OUR STORY

Cities are like fabrics…they’re both made of many smaller objects intimately woven together to create something even more useful and beautiful.

Fabrics are complex objects comprised of many individual strands. A single fiber can vary in thickness, color, and texture. The variable strands are intimately woven together in elegant patterns to form a single uniform material. Other objects are often attached to fabrics, like zippers and buttons, to create very beautiful and functional products. But without fabric, these objects could not hold together. Fabrics are the foundation; All else is flair.

A true city or neighborhood operates in the same way. The stands of fabric are the supporting architectural foundation. They are tangible things such as buildings and materials like bricks. They are spaces such as parks, squares, streets, and plazas. They are environmental elements like climate, flora, and fauna. And most importantly they are the economical, social, and cultural systems that represent a people. Each of these 'strands' has a unique local character. They are "woven" together to create a foundational urban fabric. This similarity between making products with fabrics and making architecture with elements like bricks we call...

 Fabric + Brick = Fabric[K]

At Fabric[K] Design, our focus is aimed toward designing, building, and nurturing the foundational elements of neighborhoods. Why? Because they have been forgotten. Yet, a healthy urban Fabric[K] is critical to sustaining equitable, financial and sentimental value in buildings, spaces and neighborhoods. It's the reason we have those fond memories of playing in the neighborhood, or walking to school, or walking to the corner store, or riding bikes in the street, or sitting on the stoop talking with friends. Fabric[K] is what holds all this together.

We design human-scaled architectural and urban solutions that are place-sensitive, finely-detailed, and cost-effective. But most importantly we design buildings and places for people first creating value for both client and community.

Our mandate is simple:

TO HOLD NEIGHBORHOOD FABRIC[K] TOGETHER & HELP PEOPLE BUILD BETTER LIFESTYLES THROUGH CONTEXTUAL, SUSTAINABLE AND PEOPLE-CENTRIC DESIGN.

GREAT BUILDINGS.BETTER NEIGHBORHOODS.YOUR BEST LIFE
